About the AKIS project
What AKIS is
The Agricultural Knowledge and Innovation System (SI AKIS) is the national platform through which the Ministry of Agriculture and Food Industry (MAIA) connects farmers, agricultural advisors, researchers, training institutions and professional organizations in a single digital space. The platform brings together verified agricultural information — from the register of certified advisors to research results and funding opportunities — and makes it freely accessible to anyone, anywhere.
Legal framework
The platform is established by Government Decision no. 630/2025 and is part of the national agricultural policy for developing the agricultural knowledge and innovation system, aligned with European Union practice on AKIS (Agricultural Knowledge and Innovation Systems). The platform is developed in compliance with the identity and visibility standards for European funding.
Objectives
- facilitating knowledge transfer from research and advisory services to agricultural practice;
- increasing the transparency of advisory services through the public register of certified advisors;
- keeping farmers promptly informed about trainings, events, subsidies and grants;
- strengthening collaboration among the participants of the agricultural knowledge system;
- providing open data and statistics to support evidence-based public policies.
What the platform offers
- Agricultural advisors database — the public register of certified advisors, with specializations and activity areas;
- Advisory services catalogue — providers and types of integrated advisory services;
- Professional training — training programmes and sessions, with online enrolment;
- Digital library — guides, standards, reports and training materials;

Who it is for
The platform serves farmers and agricultural producers, agricultural advisors, professional training institutions, research and innovation organizations, professional associations, support agencies and public authorities with responsibilities in the agri-food sector.
Integration with government services
SI AKIS is built on the e-Government infrastructure of the Republic of Moldova: authentication through M-Pass, electronic signature through M-Sign, notifications through M-Notify, logging through M-Log, data exchange through M-Connect, and hosting on the MCloud platform, on the territory of the Republic of Moldova.
Accessibility and design
The platform's interface follows the Unified Design Model for government services and the WCAG 2.1 level AA accessibility requirements. Content is available in Romanian, with the presentation pages also available in English.
